- You can invent your own laws of physics and so on to create your world.
- You can write about the things you loathe most about life on Earth and use your world's setting to expose these.
- Your world vision can reflect on what you would like to see on Earth.
- You can invent your own flora and fauna (and possibly use these to comment on wildlife issues here on Earth though it should be part of the story so it doesn't come across as preaching).
- You do get to play God (and nobody minds!). What you say goes here. How often can you say that in life?
- The sheer joy of inventing everything - from the world itself to individual cultures on that world and what makes up those cultures.
- The restraints of this world won't apply to what you invent!
- There is no limit to what creatures/people/monsters you can invent.
- You can play with time, history etc to create your working world. Time, history etc does not have to work the way it does on Earth because your setting is not on Earth!
- They say life is what you make it. Well your fictional world is exactly what you make it so have fun!
