Firstly, it's fun because I can figure out what my characters would be up to outside of the stories/novels I put them in. Secondly, it's a great way of working out just how well (or otherwise!) I know my characters. I've found after doing such interviews that I know much more about them than the stories/novels show and while it is not appropriate to put in all I know (it'd weigh the story/novel down too much), I can and do write about my characters with more conviction. If I don't believe in my characters, nobody else will. Thirdly the great joy of blogging is being able to put things online that won't fit into the novels/stories and my interviews with my characters very much come into that category.
I hope to post more interviews with my characters soon but thought I would post a short piece as to why I do this.
