- Professions. Think about how people earn a living. What do they do and why? Are there areas where magic is useless or too dangerous so a "manual" way has to be found to achieve what needs to be achieved?
- Education. Think about how well educated your people are, what differences exist in educational standards between countries/regiions and what kind of education is available. Also talk about magical education separately. One thing is that, in a magical world or not, everyone needs to learn to read and write so magic comes separately to non-magical studying. Incidentally, you could also discuss which is considered the most important.
- Ranks in society. I don't think there is or ever can be a classless society. There will be distinctions if only in between how rich (or otherwise) people are. So in your setting, what are those ranks and distinctions? Does anyone try to improve their position and do they succeed? Does anyone try to challenge the divisions and, again, do they succeed?
One of the great joys of inventing your own world in which to set your stories is you get to make up the rules but the important thing is to be consistent. Some world building ideas from me include:-
