Melanbury's ancestral estate is run by her parents' staff but given elves are very long lived (unless caught out by a witch or treacherous wizard) she is not expecting to come into her inheritance any time soon. Nor does she wish otherwise, being close to her parents, which is not that common. (Displays of affection are usually discouraged but her parents, having waited a long time before Melanbury arrived, take a different view and they are one of the closest elf families in the realm).
L'Evallier and Melanbury enjoy walking around their ancestral homes. (They do not like the Earth practice of opening up ancestral homes to the general public. There is no way they would do it).
