I've prepared a list of things to do as a result of all of this and am beginning to work my way through them. Am particularly pleased with my update to my Twitter profile and biography. My lovely editor at Chandlers Ford Today had mentioned this to me and, confession time, I forgot to do anything about it. Not now though!
I always come home from this Festival with my head buzzing with ideas as to where I can go with my writing (in a good way!).
While I wasn't shortlisted for any of the competitions this year, I always select the adjudication option and the comments I've received on my entries have shown me my work as it looks to others. So I have four pieces of work to sort out and hopefully submit elsewhere over the next couple of months... (Realistically I know it will take that long to rework and resubmit the stories and poem). Encouragingly, the comments were positive. It is a question of fine tweaking.
BUT...
As I write this, I'm minutes away from another Monday morning. The real world beckons again... Hmm... And I'm back at my desk, the very picture of the lone writer.
I wonder when next year's Festival will be?
