- Intelligence. They will be pursuing their goal(s) as quickly as possible and will use all their talents to find shortcuts, people to do the dirty work for them (it saves their time and energy) and will work out the best way to achieve all this. They won't thank you for getting in the way but will be bright enough to not kill you immediately. They will find a way of making your death look accidental just in case your demise brings down the wrath of the fairy government on them.
- Good Causes for doing what they're doing. It won't be mindless thuggery. (They save that for humans). Their good causes will be difficult to argue against (making recruitment of followers easier than ever) and the best ones will elicit some sympathy even from their worst enemy. Our villain, naturally, will try and exploit that for their own ends if at all possible.
- Charm/Beauty. Beauty may be physical but the best villains will charm others into helping them and be attractive enough to be a distraction to the hero/heroine and will make them question what they're doing and why.
I know it sounds a contradiction in terms but a good villain will have the following qualities.
